The most important part of any process is the foundation. If you start wrong most often you finish wrong. Christ laid a priceless foundation when He left the comfort or glory, descended to the gory of earth to bring to humanity the redemptive story. He died but He rose again JUST FOR YOU AND ME--AND I'M SO GLAD HE DID.
As he heard from God, Bishop Mason knew the Church of God in Christ would be the dawning of a new day in the organism known as the body of Christ. Observe the beauty and glory of the light that shines from above.
"IMPACT OF HIS PRESENCE" The depiction of the glory of His presence truly impacts this portrait. Though no image can accurately depict the awesomeness of Christ, we can imagine how magnificent and glorious He is as we prepare to see Him face to face. Let us rest in His presence and prepare our hearts and minds to worship Him as only true Christians can--In spirit and in truth
Mason Temple, Located at 938 Mason Street in Memphis, TN, the World Headquarters of the Church of God in Christ, was built in 1940 in the midst of WWII. Today it stands as a tribute and constant reminder to the faithfulness of Bishop Mason and as a symbol of the possibility that can become a reality through hardwork and faith in God. The completion of this edfice proved that Black America could dream and do marvelous things through unity. At its completion and for years to come Mason Temple stood as the largest, black-owned church auditorium in America.
